This document contains the following information:
1.What is a cookie?
Cookies are short text files that are downloaded to your device when you visit a website. Each subsequent visit cookies are sent back to the website that originated them (first-party cookies) or to another site that recognizes them (third-party cookies). Cookies are useful because they allow a website to recognize your device. They have different purposes such as, for example, allowing you to navigate efficiently between pages, remember favorite sites and, in general, improve the browsing experience. They also help to ensure that advertising content displayed online is more targeted to you and your interests. Depending on the function and purpose of use, cookies can be divided into technical cookies, profiling cookies, or according to membership/ origin or the parties involved (i.e. that install such cookies) third-party cookies. Essential or necessary cookies cannot be disabled using the functions of this website. In general, cookies can be deactivated completely in your browser at any time.
2. Technical cookies
Technical cookies are those whose use does not require your consent.
Among the technical cookies we point out the necessary cookies also called “strictly necessary” (strictly necessary), which enable functions, without which it would not be possible to fully use the Site. These cookies are mainly installed and used exclusively by Banca Profilo and are mainly, but not exclusively, first-party cookies. They are saved on the user’s computer only during the session according to the deadlines or durations indicated in the appropriate table below. Essential cookies cannot be disabled using the functions of the Site.
They could be assimilated to technical cookies (although not falling into this category), even some of those used to analyze statistically the accesses or visits to the site, also called “analytics”, which pursue exclusively statistical purposes, (but not also marketing or profiling) and collect information in aggregate form, in cases where there is no possibility to trace the identification of the individual user (and therefore if they comply with the conditions established by the Data Protection Authority in this regard). These cookies, if installed, may be deactivated and/or deleted through your browser settings.
Instead, technical cookies also include functional cookies that allow the website to store information that affects its behavior or appearance, such as the preferred language or the location in which you are located. Banca Profilo uses that to determine the visitor’s preferred language and to set the site’s language according to that preference if possible.
3. Non technical cookies
This category includes two types, described below, that can be activated only after the release of the user’s consent.
Statistical or analytical cookies help website owners understand how visitors interact with sites by collecting and transmitting information predominantly in aggregate, but of which we cannot guarantee that it is completely or otherwise anonymous and never traceable to a personal identifier (except for any cases mentioned above, in the previous paragraph, in which such cookies in accordance with the legislation recalled, after appropriate highlighting, may be assimilated to technical cookies).
Profiling cookies (mainly used, if not exclusively for marketing purposes) are used to track visitors on websites and their navigation. The purpose is to present advertisements that are relevant and engaging for the individual user and therefore of greater value for publishers and third-party advertisers.
4. Unclassified cookies
Unclassified cookies are cookies that are in the process of classification, together with the membership/origin of such cookies. After this classification, this information will be updated (with subsequent publication of the update).
5. First party cookies
First-party cookies (“first-part cookie”) i.e. cookies generated, set and managed directly by the operator and/ or owner of the website on which the user is browsing (and then Bank Profile).
6. Third party cookies
Third-party cookies are cookies set and managed by a third party other than the owner or co-owners of the website other than the one you are currently visiting. Therefore, in the course of browsing the site of Banca Profilo the User may, in fact, receive on his terminal also cookies generated and set by different websites or web servers (c.d. cookies of “third parties”): this happens because on the site can be present elements such as, For example, images, maps, sounds, and other items that reside on and/or come from servers other than the one on which the requested page is located.
